When you publish your demo, it's on a separate architecture. If you launch your published demo, this will launch the default link. You also have the option to create custom links to better track analytics, add a welcome screen, and customize the variables you have built into your demo. You can also turn off or on your guides and choose your starting section. This allows you to create as many customized demos as you want with just a few steps.
Follow the instructions below to learn how to create custom links:
1. Go to your Published Demo Library
2. Select the demo that you want to add a custom link to
3. Select "View More" on the right hand side above "Actions"
4. Press "Create Custom Link" on the top right hand side
5. Add a Share Link Title and Description. You can also set an expiration date for the link or send notifications to specified emails. Your email will be auto-filled and you can add additional emails from there.
6. You can use the "Guides Enabled" toggle to turn off any guides you created on this link. For example, if you have one demo that will function well for both a guided tour or a live demo, you don't have to maintain two versions and can simply utilize this guides toggle and create two different custom links.
7. If your demo includes Sections, select a starting section from the “Start from Section” dropdown. This custom link will then open at the selected section, allowing you to tailor the demo to a specific audience.
8. Update your dynamic variables or you can leave it as the default value that was created
9. You can also toggle on Welcome Page for this custom link. Check out this article for instructions and best practices on setting up a Welcome Page.
10. Press Create and Copy. You can now launch and share your custom link.
