With our Clone Environment GitLab integration, effortlessly retrieve snippet code from repositories, seamlessly detect source code alterations, and enable users to pull changes with ease.
Follow the instructions below to learn how to connect and use the GitLab Integration:
Get GitLab Project Access Token:
1. Create new GitLab account
2. Create a new Group
3. In that new Group create a new Project
4. In the new Project go to Settings -> Project Access tokens. Note you need to subscribe to the GitLab Ultimate tier to Add Project Access Tokens.
5. Create a New Project Access Token.
a. Set your expiration date to a year from now
b. Select Owner as the role
c. Under Select Scope make sure to select “api”, “read_api”, and “read_repository”
Make sure to save your project access token somewhere so you can use it in the next steps.
Connect GitLab Project to Reprise:
1. Navigate to the Settings Integrations tab.
2. Press install then connect and enter your GitLab project access token.
3. Now that this integration is connected, you can navigate to your Clone Environment demo and go to the Configure tab.
4. Use the new snippet dropdown and select the from GitLab option.
5. You can now view and select connected files for import. Once uploaded, editing within the snippet is disabled, but you can still change the snippet type.
6. If you navigate back to GitLab and make an edit, when you refresh your Clone Environment tab, you will see a notification that there are changes available from your repo and an option to update all.
