HTML Editor- Actions

Adding an action allows you to click an element on your screen to navigate to another screen, the next step in your demo, an external URL, restart your demo once it's finished, or can be used to create a compound action. You can also add a pulse action to your elements to signal what to click next in your demo flow.

In your demo settings, you can disable/enable action highlights. A highlight will give you a visual hint about what's clickable on the screen.

Follow the instructions below to learn how to add actions to navigate to different destinations in your demo, add a pulse action to an element, and turn on/off action highlights.

1. Select the element on your screen that you want to add an action to.

3. Select your action. This can be a flow action to go to a specific captured screen in your demo, an external URL, the next step in your demo, a compound action, or an advanced action with object clips or a typewriter plugin

5. Select Advanced Options, to toggle on a pulse. This will add a pulse around your element, signaling to your user to click it to move to the next step in your demo flow. If you add multiple pulse actions on an element, you can merge the demo flow steps to appear simultaneously instead of sequentially.

7. You can view and click the added action that appears below the element when you reselect it.

8. Navigate to the Settings tab to disable/enable action highlights. A highlight will give you a visual hint about what's clickable on the screen. You can see this highlight with a mouse click in dead space on the screen or hitting ctrl on the keyboard. The highlight color will mirror the theme's pulse color. This is different than an element pulse because it will only appear when you click dead space on the screen or hit ctrl on your keyboard.

9. To enable a restart action for your demo, you can assign it to any screen element or a guide button. Simply select "Restart Demo" from the list of actions. When the user clicks the designated element or guide button, the demo will restart from the beginning.
